On 29 April 2025, some changes to our fees came into effect. The numbers on this page reflect the updated fees. More information >
The renewal fee is £246.68 for two years (£123.34 per professional year)
If you are a new UK graduate from a HCPC-approved course, the fee you will pay for the first two professional years is reduced by 50 percent to £123.34 (£61.67 per year).
Payment options
You can choose from one of the following options to pay your renewal fee:
- Pay the full amount (£246.68) by credit or debit card
- Spread the cost by paying by direct debit
To pay by direct debit, you'll need to set up a direct debit instruction. You can do this via your online account, either before or during your renewal.
Direct debits
Paying by direct debit allows you to spread the cost over your two-year registration cycle. The direct debit instruction lets us make regular collections from your account, so that your fee is paid in instalments.
The first instalment is collected after your professional declaration is made. It'll come out on either the 1st or 15th of the month, whichever is closer.
Collection amount and frequency
From 1 June 2025, we are phasing in a change from bi-annual direct debit collections to quarterly direct debit collections. This will enable you to pay your registration fee in smaller, more frequent instalments. When you next renew your registration, if you pay via direct debit, you will move to paying in eight instalments across two years. Check when your profession renews >
- Renewal windows from 1 June 2025 onwards
Quarterly collections: Direct debits are taken four times a year, totalling eight instalments. The first collection of each year will be £30.88, followed by three instalments of £30.82 (subject to graduate discounts). - Renewal windows before 1 June 2025
Bi-annual collections: Direct debits are taken twice a year, totalling four instalments. Each collection is £58.18 (subject to graduate discounts). These will move to quarterly on your next renewal.
What if I don't pay?
We will contact you if you have any outstanding payments, so please make sure that your contact information is up-to-date on your online account.
In a situation where you have outstanding or failed payments, we may request for the amount owed to be paid by bank transfer.
If you we do not receive your renewal payment, your name will be removed from the Register. You will need to apply for readmission to become registered again. (We won't charge a readmission fee if we receive your application within one month of your renewal window closing, but you'll still need to pay the registration fee.)
Changes to renewal fees
A change to registrants' fees came into effect on 29 April 2025. You'll only pay this new fee when you next renew your registration.
If you're paying by direct debit, your collections will continue at the same rate until your next renewal window opens.
Orthoptists and paramedics will be the first professions to renew at the new rate (from 1 June 2025 onwards).
